Welcome to Baker Allegan Studios and Old Mill Yarn. We are your source for new and used weaving looms and weaving and spinning wheel supplies in Michigan.
We are an authorized dealer for Schacht, LeClerc, Kromski and Glimakra Looms and Spinning Wheels and always have equipment in stock for you to see and try.
We have a nice selection of Mill End yarns, hand dyed and hand spun yarn, custom and novelty yarns, Natural roving and hand dyed roving for spinners.
When visiting the Art Galleries, Art Studios and Antique shops along the Blue Star Highway in West Michigan, along with Saugatuck, Douglas and Holland, one stop you have to make is the Fiber Art and Textiles Studio of Baker Allegan Studios in Allegan. Featuring Hand-Woven rugs, bolts of fabric, numerous finished woven goods and Hand-Spun Yarns. We have a most wonderful selection of some of the most unique pieces you will find. We have also recently acquired Old Mill Yarn, formerly located in Eaten Rapids, MI. So, as of Jan. 1st, 2018, we will be carrying Mill End Yarns at discount prices.

We are well known for our restored used looms for sale in our shop. We also carry a great selection of Spinning Wheels as well as a great selection of roving for your spinning and felting projects. We have expanded our selection of mill end yarns for our Fiber Art and Yarn Shop. These are great for weaving and knitting projects at substantial savings. We can put you in a Loom or Wheel today along with everything you need to weave or spin.

This newly restored and handicap accessible historic building, built in 1907 as part of Baker Furniture Factories features the 2000 sq. ft. Fiber Arts studio of Debbie Leverence and the 1000 sq. ft. Gallery of finished goods and OLD Mill Yarn retail display. The 3000 sq. ft. lower level houses the Old Mill Yarn winding operation
with 34 commercial winding heads that can produce 4", 5" and 6" tubes and 7" cones. We also have a commercial Skein winder for converting cone yarn into 2 yard skeins for custom dying.
Located at the south end of Water Street in the Historic Mill District of Downtown Allegan, Baker Allegan Studios is the first step in the revitalization of this Historic District.
Most notably, the Mill District was the Original home of Baker Furniture. Founded here in Allegan in 1893 by Seib Baker, Baker Furniture was taken to its world renowned status by his son Hollis Baker in 1925. Baker operated in Allegan before moving to Holland Mi. in 1933
